5th Section on ACT? I saw it (utterly not kidding!)

I don't know if you guys already know it or not, but I really saw 5th section on ACT. Ok, here's what happened:

After the end of science section, I looked through the test to make sure that I hadn't missed anything. And, I saw the 5th section - It was math. There were 20 questions and it said that time limit was 16 minutes or somethin'. I'm not sure why they included, but they did!

Anyone know what it's for or why include it?

It might be for people with extra time, but I didn't have extra time - I took test normally with normal time limit!

And, I had form 66C - so there's no doubt about another form!

experimental questions

i dotn think i had them...

I heard some people had an English experimental section as well.

The 5th section is only experimental questions(they dont count-i think). People taking the writing test do not take it.

OMG it was so funny seeing people's reactions to the 5th section. People were freaking out that the ACT added another section. When we were leaving, people were talking about how that last section probably killed their score and why wasn't it with section 2? I thought this one guy was going to have a panic attack when they called time and he wasn't finished. Little did they know that it doesn't count towards anything!

i had no experimental sections..

I had 16 questions and had 30 minutes for an extra math section.

that sounds like the SAT.. the 10th section on the SAT is experimental, isn't it?

yeah, i didn't have the 5th section on my test.. probably b/c i took writing

^^
No, on the SAT the experimental section is randomly placed and looks exactly like the other sections so people won't blow it off.

mine was english, though i did not take it, it looked different than the regular english

"No, on the SAT the experimental section is randomly placed and looks exactly like the other sections so people won't blow it off."

then how come both times I took the SAT the last section always seemed impossible, especially in the measly 10 minutes given to complete it?

For other people the last 10 questions are really easy.

They are for me, but writing section is my thing.

Anyways, a 34 with 7 is fantabulous, you should relax.

yeah i know.. that's why i didn't sweat this act too much... now i studied my butt off for it just because maybe i'd be able to get higher, but even if i don't, then i'm still set with my 34.. and the 7 on writing makes my combined english/writing score a 31 (reg. english score was a 35)... and most colleges like seeing a 30+ on the combined score at the bottom... so a 34 with a 7 writing would definitely not hold me back and is still better, in my opinion, than a 33 with a 10 (of course, some colleges sometimes pick a lower score every once in a while over a higher score for some reason..)

I had to take an experimental section 5 because I opted not to take the writing portion. Mine was a reading passage about some guy working on a log mill with maybe 10 questions that were pretty easy. I doubt that section counts for anything.

no it won't... the experimental questions are for research purposes or something like that i think
