5th year financial aid

i apologize if there has been like a million threads about this, but i wasn’t able to find a particular thread that gave me the answer that i was looking for.

i’m going to be starting up my 5th year (specifically 2 quarters) at UC Davis and i was wondering how this extra year will impact my financial aid. will my aid even change? if so, how?

if there are any fifth years with any experience with this, that would be great! thank you guys

I’m currently a 5th year and I have financial aid. Ironically, I qualified for Pell Grant this year whereas in the past 2 years (I’m a transfer, btw), I didn’t qualify for Pell Grant at all. My aid hasn’t changed much at all, other than the addition of the Pell Grant. Of course, I did get an email from the financial aid office last quarter that I only have two quarters left (this quarter and spring quarter) before my financial aid eligibility would be up, but luckily, I’m done after this quarter.

Hey guys can you help me out? I was wondering if you guys received roughly the same amount of aid your 2nd 3rd and 4th years as you did your 1st year. Plz respond asap…before March 1st. Thanks

I can’t say anything about my 1st and 2nd year because I’m a transfer student, but I actually had more aid my 2nd and 3rd (current) year than my first year at Davis (I’m referring to how long I’ve been at Davis since I’ve been admitted as a transfer student, btw).

sopranokitty, just wondering did you qualify for the Cal Grants–do you know how they’re impacted for the 5th year?

No, I don’t qualify for Cal Grants, unfortunately (never did). :frowning: My sister somehow qualified for a Cal Grant for the current school year, but I don’t know if she’ll still qualify for a Cal Grant since she’s going into her fifth year in the fall.
