5th Year Masters Program

Hi

Both CMU (SCS) and UC Berkeley EECS offer a 5th year Masters Program. What I'd like to know is that whether the cost of this fifth year is the same as the cost for grad school ( ie the normal Masters program) for both schools?

This is because the cost of the Masters program is much less at UC Berkeley as compared to CMU, and if the cost of the fifth year is the same as the cost for one undergrad year, I'd rather not pursue the program

Thanks

Bump. Anyone?

How about this: SCS does not offer Master’s degree for non-CMU student. This means that you cannot get a masters degree in CS from CMU unless you attend undergrad at CS. Cost wise, you should ask an admin in SCS for more details.

Rumor-wise, it is extremely diffculut for CS majors to get into the 5th year masters program. Apparently the masters program welcomes ECE majors with much more open arms.

5th year masters CS is EXTREMELY difficult to get in, regardless of your major.

Ok thanks a lot!
