Are there any statistics on how many students from a given class take the offer to do a fifth year of classes without any additional tuition? Is this typically done in order to complete a double major, or perhaps some minors? Is a student permitted to take any of those 5th year classes in the Simon School, or any other graduate school class?

You need to look at [this page](<a href=“Students : College Center for Advising Services : University of Rochester”>Students : College Center for Advising Services : University of Rochester). The program isn’t to complete majors but to give time to explore an interest.

The Take Five Program specifically prohibits applicants from completing a major, minor or other academic program during it. Grad coursework at Simon is not available to Take Five Scholars; undergrad Simon classes may be available under very special circumstances. Some grad classes in Arts, Sciences, Music, Engineering may be open to Take 5 Scholars.

Also acceptance into Take Five is very competitive with only about 12-15 proposals accepted each year.

Ah, thank you both for the clarification. I apologize for not having directly checked out the website since I’m forever telling others in the family to do the same!

I think it was directly mentioned in the Fiske Guide or somewhere and I hopped onto CC. Appreciate the help!

No need to apologize.

Take Five is a good program but stuff like that in general should not be a concern - at any school - when you’re thinking about applying. You have no idea what life holds.
