6 AP Classes...?

I am a high school sophomore right now and am planning my schedule for next year. Right now I am scheduled for:

AP Calculus BC
AP Computer Science A
AP Chemistry
AP US History
AP English
Honors Anatomy/Physiology
IB Spanish SL II (Spanish 5)

I am now considering taking Honors Anatomy/Physiology senior year because it is considered an easier class and dropping IB Spanish because I have already taken four years of Spanish. If I do that, then I will take AP Physics I instead.

Is taking six AP classes too much? I’m taking three this year: AP Bio, AP Calculus AB, and AP Human Geography, and I have a lot of free time along with my other extracurriculars. Thanks in advance.

I would not reccomend six. Ap classes can be very time consuming. However, if you know how to manage your time well and these classes are not known for giving hours of nonsense homework or whatever (my bio teacher would give tons of packets for homework knowing that everyone just copied each other or wrote Bs answers), them go for it. Plus you know yourself and your work ethics far better than I do.

It’s silly to ask. It depends on what kind of student you are. If you easily get A’s in all your classes take all AP’s.

Doable. But also know that you’ll need to spend a lot of time studying for the ACT and SAT, which if taken in the spring of junior year as is typical, will conflict with stressful AP exam studying. Try it out, and if this schedule turns out to be too overloaded, it’s okay to say no and drop some commitments.

I’m taking 7 so I can tell you from experience it isn’t fun. Yes it’s doable but it isn’t optimal. I pretty much didn’t have a social life anymore and above all I lost ALOT of sleep. If you’re ready for at least some of that than go for it but colleges won’t dock you for taking 4 or 5.
