Alright, im taking 6 of the hardest aps in my school( French, physics, calc ab, english, gov, eco). Im finding physics and gov very time consuming and tedious. I am also finding calc ab partially difficult because of a bad teacher. Also, my gpa is taking a beating and I might slip 3-4 percent. Is this okay? Seriously I wanted to drop a few, but I considered that cowardily, and decided not to. Im worried that this would destroy my chances at my RD Schools (Duke, Uchicago, Cornell, NYU, etc). Suggestions? Comments?

please people!!! I need advise and maybee even therapy!!! jk

colleges prefer that you get a B in an AP class rather than an A in an easy class.

Push yourself, your senior year is almost 25% complete. Do not need to catch senioritis!!

thanks huskem55. I thought the same. However, im still worried considering the fact that my gpa is dipping. Im really scared. I dont want to be rejected due to my senior yr grades.

Stop and think about it, how many kids are rejected because they slacked off and it became apparent on the 7th semester transcript. My son is also in the same ap courses, substitute Latin for French and does an intership M-F. He is keeping the grades up and has mentioned on several occassions that he is tired and the difficulty of the work. But he knows that in the end he has a great chance of getting into his "dream school"

What is your current GPA and class rank?

"colleges prefer that you get a B in an AP class rather than an A in an easy class."

Unfortunately, the most accurate statement is a bit different: highly selective colleges want you to get an A in an AP class.
