6 or 7?

How many courses does your school allow you to take?

We have eight periods and a common lunch for everybody. We're required to take gym. We aren't allowed to take a course in lieu of study hall unless if it's choir, band, or orchestra. And we can't even do that sometimes because AP sciences have labs during study hall. That's whack, yo.

Anyway, we can take a maximum of 7 if you're taking choir/band/orch, 6 if you aren't.

There's a possible 8 classes for 9th-11th graders
possible 9 classes for 12 graders
HOWEVER
you can only have 7 credits, so the "extra" classes must be taken pass/fail
Seniors can take up to 9 if they don't have a lunch and have 0 period (only seniors cannot have lunch)
But, if you have a lunch and no 0 period, like 97% of my school, the max is 7. Like me, I take 7.

Some music classes, like marching band, drumline, and jazzband, are offered as a 7th or 8th period that meets after school. If someone had the regular 0-6th period classes, and then was to take drumline and jazzband second semester, they could have 9 classes.

We can only have 6 majors - science, math, eng, hist, foreign language + sixth. You can also add band/choir I am pretty sure. On top of that there are required classes. We have nine periods in total, one of which is lunch, but those with a packed schedule (mostly due to double-period AP classes) can opt not to have lunch.

But say we are in our senior year, having completed all the "easy" required classes, and we have sixth majors, we cannot just add electives to fill in the rest of the periods. In other words, you can't have a seventh major.

Everyone is required to have one lunch period (though AP Sciences only get half). You have to take religion, math, english, and a social studies (govt, econ, history) class every year. Freshman take PE, and you have to take a semester of Art and music at some point. Three years of science and two years of Latin and a modern language (German, French, Spanish) are required.

Not much room for electives - not too many electives anyways. (Comp Sci, more art, band, chorus, or you can just take another english or history class).

7 classes for everyone

Up to 7 classes for 9-12...however, in 12th grade you can drop 1 or 2 classes

8 classes...

10 ←

10? You're so effin' lucky!

I have 8.

5/semester; 2 semesters... dono if thats what you meant

Yeah. We only get 4 per s.

4 per semester??? how can u graduate?

Seven classes, but seniors can choose to take as few as 3, if they have enough credits. I wish I could take 8 or 9 classes :-/.

Eight classes (four core, four "electives"), though zero-hour classes are available to juniors and seniors.

eight classes, year-round.
english, math, science, history, language, advisory, athletics/p.e./elective, and art/engineering/elective.
optional 0 class for yearbook, which makes 9 classes.

8 classes
...............

I was venting to my friend about how I wish I could take more classes and he was like uhh wts are you talking about...

A mark of a true CCer. ;)

Normally, people have 4 classes each semester. That's what the regular school hours allow for.

In the morning block, it is possible to have AM Band, AM Choir or AM Phys Ed. Jazz combos practice at lunch. Jazz bands, jazz choir, and international politics are after school. Also, there is a french/spanish challenge exam that can be taken for credit.

So really, if you had a full academic timetable, band, choir, jazz combo, jazz band, jazz choir, french challenge, and international politics, you could get credit for 11 classes in one semester, which is more than most people take in a year. Fun times.

You know you're on CC when...
