Is this just a coincindence? My son was awarded the same merit scholarship amount at 3 universities, all Catholic. It makes me think he's not special and this could be standard practice. One did give him an additional leadership scholarship.

just a coincidence. My daughter got $9,000 from Dusquesne.

Are the schools all in the same price range?

anyway - they all their their own merit scholarship criteria.

Oh, too funny, Duquesne is one of them. Did your daughter ever look at it? Yes, they are all about the same in tuition. Has your daughter gotten $9,000 from other Catholic schools? Maybe it's tied to GPA.

Duq is the only Catholic school she applied to - thought about Catholic U but never got around to it.
Has not visited and she got two better deals elsewhere - the gap is just gonna be too big I am afraid.
It is usually tied to GPA and SAT's. I have no idea how Duquesne calculated the amount.

Years ago my oldest applied to St Joes and Mt St Mary's - got a bigger scholarship at St Joes but MSM was a much better deal - got a need grant plus lower tuition. She liked it better anyway so that was good.

Where else did yours apply?

It's a papal conspiracy. Here I thought they would be planning world domination. Turn out, they want to screw with your financial aid!
