680 on CR gonna bite me in the ***?

^^^ Yup... that's what I'm wondering

Every other SAT score have is well within the ballpark for princeton... it's just this 680 CR that puts me around the 25th percentile for princeton students. (every other SAT section goes: 760, 710. And for SAT IIs 770, 800, 740)

i...........really.............doubt.............it

what's with the "................."?

i was going to do it for a long time as a joke, but i got bored after doing it for a moment so i stoped. something along the lines of i.........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................really (repeat for a while etc.) i dunno maybe i thought it would somehow be funny. hmm

pton seems to stress scores the most- most of their admits last year had scores near the 800 mark. Either that or the person had a strong hook

Don't worry, I only pulled a 680 in CR reading as well. My only hope is that the 800 math will offset it, as I am applying for engineering. Could a good reading ACT score possibly offset it somewhat as well (35)?

i have 680 math....and a 690 CR...and I am non-URM, non-athlete, non-legacy.

I am hoping strong ACT score, course rigor and GPA would offset my horrible SATs

Gosh, the wait is killing me. I just wanna get in sooooo badly

aww man i got 690...

ahh, 710 here... but yea, similar to a previous q, would an 800 M offset that if applying to engineering?

The spider and the fly

ok this is completly stupid but i can never get these dumb blue book problems...ok so can ne one help me with it?
In a rectangular room 30'x12'x12', a spider is at the middle of an end wal, on foot from the celling
The fly is at the middle of the opposite end wall, one foot above the floor. The fly is so frightened it cant move.
What is the shortest distance the spider must crawl in order to capture the fly?(hint less then 42') i may seem totally stupid but i need help and my teacher wont help ne one out with these so i hope u help...thanks

I'm hoping 740 is okay in verbal, but my math was rrrrrrrreallllllly bad. Does Princeton stress math over verbal or verbal over math, or neither?

I don't think 680 is going to put you in really competitive position...

mathwonder, make a paper model of the room (cut the rectangles, tape them together). Draw the spider and the fly. Now spread the paper flat on the table and draw a straight line... that's all.

You can actually do it all in your head.

There have been two recent 'developments' since sending in my ED application. Should I write admissions and inform them of these latest achievements? They are:

1) Awarded a "most deserving student" scholarship. Only one given from a private foundation.

2) Got a role as an actor/skater for a movie premier. (Note that my No. 1 EC is figure skating and my No. 5 EC is theatre - both of which I plan to continue in college).

Thank you for your help.

I don't think it will either. I just hope that my other SAT sections can offset my 680 CR, because all of my top sections average out to 743.3 average per section, which is fairly competitive. I'm still ranked near the top of my class, taken APs left & right, etc. etc.... so.... --crosses fingers--

What about the fact that English is my second language and is not the language spoken at home?

think about it its not that hard

why does it matter any how? you will find out soon enough. stop lying to yourself so you can feel better

shopper, which movie is the premiere for??

They give you a break on the CR section if you are ESL. Also, it's not going to break you if you show your achievement elsewhere.

My feeling is that the SAT scores are looked at only to eliminate applicants with bad to extremely bad scores right off the bat. The exact numbers aren't as important as the "range" they fall in.

would a 1360, 700,740,770 put me out?!
