So I got my results back. Chemistry was pretty solid, but I'm concerned about this literature grade. I didn't really study at all for it, and, in my opinion, that test was hard as a mofo. Should I retake this? (Most likely yes) And how should I go about improving my score? I'm definitely more of an ACT guy, so I have a hunch the -1/4 penalization is not doing me much favors.

dang what up wit all these replies

Well what kinds of schools are you thinking of applying to? Look at the average scores of those schools and see how you compare.

I agree with what Lagging said in theory, but in practice I don’t think there’s any way to see average SAT Subject Test scores by school. That said, I’d shoot for a 700 or over at any school or a 750 or over at any Ivy or similarly competitive school.

Mmm yeah, if you wanna go to Ivy League, then over 700 is good for any SAT test. You’d want a 750+ if you’re majoring in lit. But considering lit is a difficult test, 690 is not that bad.
