690 to 800 on CR

So I took the SAT in november and scored a 690 on the CR section...

So I'd really like an 800 in CR (or high 700's) next time I take it (say... this november or maybe even march...)

I didn't miss any SC.

So what do you think I should do to work to an 800?

I scored a 690 in CR in January and managed to get an 800 in June (funny, because the title immediately caught my eye). I did not, however, get 0 SCs wrong - I think I got 2 for the 690. I drilled some vocab with Barron’s CR book and did Blue book and Barron’s passage exercises for the 800.

Also, read short stories (novels won’t help you really–you need to be able to come into a short situation and be able to pick up what’s going on in the middle of things) and ask yourself who? when? where? why? how? as you’re reading. Then afterward, reflect on the tone and theme. It’s important to grasp the content on your first read-through so that if you need to answer the questions that ask you to draw a conclusion, you won’t hestitate. You’ll already know what the main idea is, and you’ll be able to rule out good-sounding, non-relevant answers fast. The main idea usually is the key that leads you to the answer, so if you focus on finding that, you’ll be good.
