Hi!
So I was told to pay the application fee for Drexel Med School.
My combined SAT is a 1530, with a 720 in Chemistry and 760 in Math II C
I have very good medical experience, ECs, Leadership, Community Service, Grades, Teacher Recs
I am an Asian (Indian) Female
What are my chances for getting an interview and getting into the med program?
Also when will I find out about the interview?
And can you please share any interview tips for Drexel Accelerated Med Program (ie. what to expect, what questions do they usually ask, how my responses should be, what to say and what not to say to a med school admissions counselor, etc.)
Thanks for your help! I didn’t want to say too much about myself so that’s why I just summed up my scores and ECs.
Please answer, it will be the biggest help thanks!
This program is extremely competitive, less than 7% of applicants get in most years.
That being said, I think, on paper, that you have a decent chance of securing an interview.
For what to expect in the interview: A mix of questions about your experiences, your hopes/future, and some behavioral questions. The best thing you can do in this interview is to be yourself - There are 200 other people who have your scores and ECs and are just as smart and hard working as you are. The only thing that can separate you from them is your character - this is the reason they do the interviews in person when possible. This isn’t to say that you should try to make yourself seem different or eccentric - this means that the best chance you’ll have is if you just show them who you are.
