7 year med programs?!

Ok so in the fall I'm going to college for Pre-Med. My college is in partnership with Temple University so if I meet the requirements of having a 3.5 overall GPA and a 3.8 GPA in all my science courses + no less than a score of 9 on the MCAT I can gain early acceptance into the medical school at Temple.

Does Temple have a good medical school? Or should I get a bachelors degree and then decide where to go from there?

When do you have to commit? I would say try for the goals they set but when the time comes you can decide what you want to do. A 3.8 science gpa is pretty high though a 9 on each sectiom (i assume each section) is pretty low. If you do get higher on the MCAT than a 27 then you would have a good chance at many places with 3.8 BCPM.

I’m not sure when I have to commit I was never told? Is Temple’s Med School even good?

there’s no such thing as a bad medschool but well look up rankings if thats what you care about, i’m not really familiar with the temple program

Early Assurance programs (which I believe you’re referring to) usually don’t work in the way you talk about. It’s not just once you meet those requirements, you’re in. How it works is that you apply in your sophomore year after some of your pre-reqs are completed, and then if they accept you you take the MCAT and meet their minimum requirements.

Every Med. School in the US is a good one. My D. is in a similar program with exactly the same requirement of MCAT=27. it is too early for you to decide. She does not know even now and she is going to be college sinior next year. She is waiting for MCAT score, couple more weeks and she will know if she will apply out or hopefully has at least 27 to stay in her program. The reason that she wants to apply out is she does not like urban location of Med. School in her program, she is at different UG right now with very pretty campus in a middle of nowhere. Other than that, all Med. Schools are just fine.
