Hi there I am thinking about applying to MIT EA next year.

My SAT I scores(march 14) are as following:
730 CR
710 M
730 W
11 E

Will this lower math score hurt my chances at admission? I consider myself to be mathematically proficient but I get tripped up by some of the SAT's questions. (I got several 'easy' questions wrong on the math.)

I did pretty well on the SAT II subject tests last June. Can these scores make up for my SAT I (if possible)?

You’re fine score-wise. They want to see 700s in things to see if you’re academically qualified, then they look at the rest of the application. You shouldn’t worry about that aspect, especially with the 800 :D

Yeah. Don’t fret too much. They’ll see that you can ace that SAT II math. However, if you truly want to show proficiency, it would be fun to take the AMC 12/AIME.

Thank you for your replies. I took the AMC 12 at our school this year but barely missed qualifying for the AIME.
If I take the AMC/AIME in 2010 is there no way to send the new scores to MIT in time?

I’m dealing with an issue similar to yours. Good math student, but only a 720 on the SAT I (800 Math II). You may find some of the replies in this thread relevant to your query:
