It should generally be good enough if you’re mainly focusing on the humanities. 720 is not that great of a score on the SAT IIs. If you’re doing something math or science related, then anything short of 800 can be a potential problem.

I’m presuming you got a 720 on Math Level 2 – for that test, since the curve is so high, a 720 is not a very good score. Most people who take it score (at least if you are aiming for Penn) 780+. If that is your score for Math Level 1 (which has a significantly lower curve), then it is a fine score. A 770 on U.S. History is a great score, but if you are looking at any schools that require 3 SAT IIs, the 580 on Chemistry will definitely hurt you.

yeah IMO a 720 on math II isn’t a good score, since even if you get an 800, thats only about 90th precentile (I looked it up on my score report). That means a 720 is probably only about a 60-70th precintile, which isn’t great if you are applying to top level schools. Your 770 in US Hist is definitely good though, since it’s around the 95th precentile.

Chemistry…that’s going to really hurt you, since even 50th precentile (doing better than 1/2 of ALL college bound seniors in US) is a 630. You should probably re-take that or take another SAT 2 that you can do well on to compensate.

You have a good mix of schools on your list so I think the answer depends very much on the selectivity of the individual school, your grades and what you scored on the SAT I. If your math, CR and Writing are all strong, then you aren’t depending on your SAT IIs to make or break your application. Most schools only use two SAT II scores so a 720 and a 770 are great together.
