760 Math IIC for Brown?

Hi, I'm going to be applying to Brown ED soon but I was wondering if it was worth it to take the time and energy to study for my SAT IIs again. Will a 760 Math IIC cut it or should I just take it again in October?

I have a chance thread up (<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1201350-chances-help-narrowing-down-my-list.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1201350-chances-help-narrowing-down-my-list.html</a>) but, basically, I'm trying to become a Questbridge finalist and apply to Brown that way. I'm also an intended Studio Art major, if that makes any difference. I have a 3.8 GPA, 2300 (800CR/720M/780W) SAT, and a 790 in Lit. My grades and my SAT I scores reflect my weaknesses in math so I'm not sure exactly what to do especially since time is running a little short.

Do you think I should retake it? Will it make a considerable difference?

The admissions benefit yielded from improving 760 to 800 is minor enough that retaking is probably not worth your while. I recommend sticking with your current score.

Thanks for the input  That’s what I’d like to think too…
Would you happen to know if Brown judges their applicants differently based on what concentration they’re interested in (ie. would they consider someone interested in biology the same as someone interested in studio art)? I’d like to know if I’m at a disadvantage by being interested in the art program.

You won’t be at a disadvantage for that reason.

fwiw, the official name was changed to Math 2 over six years ago. You can’t be that ‘antique’. :)

bluebayou: I guess it’s habit after hearing my teachers refer to it that way haha I’ve gotten used to calling it IIC

silverturtle: Thank you for the insight again!
