780-800 lit scorers

how do you guys approach the test?

I'm taking it in June and took two kaplan practice tests, with scores of 750 on both.

I just read the passage first, then answered the questions.

Do you guys read the questions first, then the passage? (the kaplan book says to do it that way, but I've never approached reading comprehension like that).

has anyone ever used princeton review?

I tried to get Kaplans but that didn’t work out. I’m gonna check at the library but I doubt they have it.

Is PR still ok? it seeems like it’s easier than the actual test…I got a 750 the first time. I’m gonna try Barrons and see if there’s a drastic difference.

Should I take the one in the CB book now…or like a couple of days before the test?

Uh, your response has nothing to do with my thread.

Here you go:

I always read the questions first.

Thanks for the response.

Bumping this, would like a few more opinions if possible.

i got a 780. i read the passage first.

I really don’t think there are any strategies to these lit tests. I’m gonna go in with my 720, retake it, and hope for the best.

Yeah, I pretty much believe that too. Interested to see how many people actually read the questions before the passage though.

I always always read the passage first. I have 800 on Lit and 800 and 790 on CR.

Reading the questions first, imho, primes you to get tricked: If you approach the passage not knowing what’s being asked, you will absorb more information. Reading the questions first sets you to look for certain things in a passage, which could be to exclusion of other important information.

I got an 800 CR and 770 Lit and I ALWAYS read the passages first, it gets me in the zone =D
