7questions wrong = 2240

Hi guys, I am just going to complain... I got 7 questions wrong and a 10 on the essay and I ended up with a 2240. now I know that I am going to get bashed for complaining about a score in the 99th percentile, but on a different test, 7 questions wrong is a 2370. I did not think that the march SAT was easy, but the curve that they used is the easiest curve of any of the tests they have ever released. Their is something wrong with that. Any thoughts?

That doesn’t seem right…I got 5 wrong and also had a ten essay and ended up with a 2320. What was you distribution? Did you leave a bunch blank or something?

I know, its really wierd… my breakdown was 750-740-750 CR/M/W. what was yours?

you guys are smart…

but yea at my school everyone did alot worse then they thought they would…

I know this sounds like im stupid… but i got a 1770/2400 on my real test… but a week before i got a 1850 on a mock

i think this test was harder… take the may

I need to take sat 2 in may. Can anyone else confirm that these scores in relation to questions wrong are not totally wierd?

Well, last time I got 9 questions wrong and a 2240, and this time, 7 wrong and a 2280. You’re right, 7 wrong should not be 2240… that sucks. :[

but 7 wrong will never be 2370, lol

abraveson, can you tell me your breakdown with number of questions wrong?

Sure, just wait a minute, lemme find it… I’ll be back.

I was very surprised by the CR curve. I’ve never seen a curve that harsh. -3 is very often an 800, but this time -2 wasn’t even 800. I actually thought the passages were easier than normal, but I thought the vocab was harder than normal and balanced out the passages.

For me, 2310 with 6 wrong, 2 in CR and 4 in Math.

Just speculating…

Best case scenario for 7 wrong:

-4 CR (-5 rounded) –> 750 with good curve
-1 M –> 790 with good curve
-2 W with 12 essay –> 800

So theoretically you could get 2340 with 7 wrong if the test was hard, maybe even higher on the rare occasion when -1 M = 800 or when CR is really generous.

112358, can you tell me the breakdown of your scores? you obviously got an 800 in writing, but did you end up with a 780 in CR and a 700 in math?

can anyone else with scores in the 2100+ range post their breakdowns and the number they got wrong in each section? thanks!

K so last time I took the test, here’s my breakdown for it:

CR: 730 w/ 5 wrong, 1 omit
M: 740 w/ 2 gridins wrong
W: 770 w/ 1 wrong, 9 essay

so overall, that was 9 questions wrong

The most recent time I took it looked like this:

CR: 770 w/ 1 wrong, 2 omits
M: 740 w/ 3 wrong (i dunno if htey were gridins or not)
W: 770 w/ 1 wrong, 10 essay

so overall, 7 wrong

abraveson, kind of importnat… were these scores from march? those are the only ones which would have the same curve

yeah, the 2nd set is march. wait, sorry, writing was actually 780, not 770. but same thing, 1 wrong, 10 essay. so it was 2290 overall.

Oh it makes sense now that I see that breakdown from abraveson. Any way mine was -1 800 CR -3 740 M -1 10E 780 W. No omits.

To those who got 800s in CR, did you put explanation or observation for the Twain question? I think that was the one that killed me. I changed my answer and I think I had it right the first time.

wombatsoup, when you say -1 and -3 is that the number of questions wrong, or does it include the -.25 for wrong answers? because I had two math questions wrong for a 740…
