my school doesnt even have algebra 4 7th gade but i got a 710. my lowest score, 2.

7th: 520 math, 550 verbal = 1070 (I think that's it... it's been awhile)
11th: 680 math, 710 verbal, 710 writing = 2100

the only preparation I undertook was a couple of practice tests to "get used to the format" of the new SAT

i never was able 2 take it.... sad thing, 2. got a freakin 710 4 it.

so frustrating.
cant put my message in the right place. sighs

in my county its basically illegal 2 do that. so unfair. probably could do it 2, not bragging or anything. our school isnt allowed 2 have anyhing 4 its more advanced children.

i just needed 1 more point 2!!!
2 get an 800 writing, that is.

7th Grade: 600 Verbal 660 Math- 1260
I was in Geometry in 7th grade so that helped me out a little
Haven't taken the new SAT yet
Oh, but I have PSAT scores from 10th grade
63 CR 68 Math 66 Writing
Not much improvement heh? Maybe studying this summer will help

wow you guys are smart

7th grade - 700 M 560 V
current - 780 M (800 in 2 weeks !!) 760 V 740 W(if matters)

7th - 500 V, 550 M -1050.
11th - 650 CR, 800 M, 680 W - 2130

I remember thinking I would never get above a 1100 on the old scale. Then I woke up one day and realized I had been learning stuff in school.

6th grade: 450 M, 550 V = 1000
7th grade: 550 M, 640 V = 1190
Now (Final): 780 M, 800 V = 1580 (+710 WR = 2290)

I've never been a studier, so this is pretty much straight improvement. (I don't say that to be smug, I'm just not one). Of course, I also covered 6 years of math from the 450 to the 780, so that's something to consider as well!

Oh, and personally, I took the SAT in middle school because I wanted to accelerate another year in math. So when I took it in the sixth grade, I was in pre-pre-Algebra. I missed the cutoff--it was 480. I took it again in the 7th grade, and the cutoff was 520, so obviously I made it (and didn't take it again in the 8th grade when I had no incentive). Personally, I haven't really heard of kids in Illinois taking it for talent search type things (That JHU thing seems to be mostly east coasters). Of course, it could just be that no one in my district cared...always a possibility.

I've taken a standardized test at least once every year since seventh grade-

7: ACT-24 (24E/22M/26R/23S)
8: SAT- 1180 (630M/550V)
9: ACT-29 (28E/30M/28R/28S)
10: ACT- 29 (33E/29M/26R/26S)
10: PSAT- 198 (72M/65R/67V)
10: ACT-32 (34E/33M/28R/33S, 9E)
11: PSAT- 209 (73M/67R/69W)
11: SAT- 2010 (660M/700V/650W, 9E)

That's a lot of tests, and I'm still set to take the SAT and ACT again this year...

7th grade: 510/510

11th: 710/620/700

im worried.... is a 2240 like what i got in the top 2 or 3%?
i hate myself for slacking off at the last moment. I'd taken 8 practice tests. first few were like 2200's, but the last four or five were all in the 2360-2400 range. But then i did no organized practice for the last week before SAT. And i did almost no essay work. In the actual test, if my essay score was one point higher, i would have had a 800 writing instead of 790. I also did no practice for math. So i ended up missing four questions, giving me a 710...

i guess i did pretty well for 7th grade, but i know i would have been much better.

^^^Loser..........

thannkss...............
feel even better about myself now. But are there any merit-based scholarships for duke tip?

I'm sorry acadmicsrule, but I hoped you learned your lesson.

I don't know if there are merit scholarships for DTIP, but I'm sure there are. But I know for sure there is a ceremony in June or something recognizing top scorers, and there are numerous summer activities you can engage in during high school.

that was actually helpful...
did you read my posts for the other thread? in which you were so p***ed?

except i think the actual ceremony's in april. i hope so. june'sway 2 late. i'll be in jiuzhaigou then.

yeah when i took it in 7th grade i did ok, don't rly remember my score. did go to costa rica freshman and sophomore summer though. but i think we had to pay for it...

it was fun though
