8.6% admit rate this year

1099 admitted RD. This means more than 18,000 applicants didn't get in, so don't beat yourself up if you are one of them. It's a crapshoot, even for those with sterling credentials.

Good luck to everyone! And if you're curious, I'd prefer not to reveal my source, but my information is accurate.

1099 admitted RD, does the 8.6 take into consideration the number admitted EA?

RD, I'd presume, since 750+ were already admitted EA!

Oh wait, I didn't answer the question...haha didn't read it carefully. I think the 8.6 is just RD, but I could be wrong. EA acceptance rate was about 17% or so.

8.6 RD isn't bad.

Wait, this doesn't add up. 1099/16,819 (Total RD Apps) X 100 = 6.53%. Maybe it is overall then.

I think 8.6 RD is too high?

That's probably The RDs plus EA deferees?

Was the EA/ED rate higher or lower than RD? Is ED generally easier than RD? I mean, I hear it is, but it really is hard to tell.

8.6 is overall. 1823/20903 X 100 = 8.7%

Ouuuuuuuch.

How does that compare with other colleges? And last year?

Ouch, that's terrifying.

Probably a much lower admit rate for RD then, if 8.6% is overall

And EA deferees. :(

1,823 admitted out of 21,099 applicants is an overall admit rate of 8.6%.

I'm just posting so those of you who are celebrating can do it that much more jubilantly and those who are unhappy can put it into perspective.

whoa..are they that confident they can meet their yield?? well i guess i can understand that. anyhow, i don't expect to be among that 1000 acceptances or so..so i guess whatever happens won't affect me (since i just found out i was rejected by jhu)

infamy, i was rejected by jhu too. and now waiting for more and more rejections from ivies. 8.6%?? lol the little bit of hope left has just flew out the window.what a day!

I wonder what the waitlist is looking like.

8.6%?! Wow....

thanks for the good news.

Wow, this sucks. This means they accepted less students than the previous two years...probably because so many EA acceptees matriculated.

They accepted a record number of people in the early round - enough to fill half or more of the class.
