Next semester my school is only offering two Anatomy Lectures, one with a horrible professor in the afternoon (1:40-2:55PM MoWe) and one with a decent professor (8:00-8:50AM MoWeFr). What would be the best choice? Take the 8 AM which I know is already hard to do with a regular class or take the crappy professor at a more convenient time?
The point of college is to get an education. I would get up for the better professor, but then I hated late classes and preferred to finish before I had lunch.
I’d take the better professor. I had a 7 AM class one semester, and I just had to force myself to get out of bed.
I would also get up for a markedly better professor.
8am! You can do it for one semester! And, I don’t know if this is a factor for you, but you’ll get a better parking space.
Well I’m the opposite and would much prefer a 8am class to an afternoon class so it would be an easy decision for me. However you also need to remember that you might love a professor that someone else doesn’t like.
One day you’ll have to get up for work. Good luck.
The early one with the better instructor is better on both aspects. Early afternoon is often a sleepy time for many people, so classes during that time may be more difficult to pay attention in.
A semester is about 15 weeks long. Whatever inconvenience for a better experience is worth it.
Yeah, I’d vote for taking a better professor as well. It might be hard but it is totally worth it!
In the real world, the day is well underway by 8am. Get used to it.
What time did your high school start classes?
I agree…your HS probably started before 8, right? Work will start around 8:30 in the future. You can do it.
Better prof, no question.
Take the 8am class.
Once you get out into the real world, if you live in a city with lots of traffic and you have a long commute, be prepared to be on the road at 5:00-5:30am every day.
Even if you don’t have a long commute, sometimes jobs start early in the morning.
I agree with taking the 8am class, because the caliber of the Prof can make or break your success in a class. That said, why does everyone assume that OP will automatically have a 9-5 daylight job? There are plenty of fields, manufacturing and production, hospitals. research facilities. that operate 24/7. Having a degree does not guarantee daylight.
8:00 class is better because you can get good grade. This is the most important point of getting university.
Honestly i’d go for the 8 AM, IMO not worth ruining GPA for later class
