<p>Top 10 percent is within the top 15 percent… There’s not going to be a noticeable discrepancy in starting salaries from someone that’s 85th percentile vs 90th percentile.</p>

<p>If you mean an average State University as opposed to a good one, then I would imagine 5-10K less. Check the college websites.</p>

<p>I just checked my recruitment website, and I noticed a job there which said 80K+ for wage but had a minimum GPA of 3.7 (that’s about 3% of people). So if you’re top 3% or so in Engineering at one of the few top public schools maybe you can expect something like 80K.</p>
