800 in math 2 but 730 in math 1

I got a 800 in math 2 which I am very happy about. However, I somehow ended up with a 730 in math 1. I thought the test was very easy, is this common?

Is it common? No. Because few people take both, and no college that asks for 2 or 3 Subject Tests consider them different subjects.

Congrats on the 800; submit that (plus another subject preferably) and forget the M1 score.

Not “common” in raw numbers, but somewhat common for those who chose to try it.

College Board actually states in its material that going “back” to take the “easier” test often results in a worse score. The score scaling (score you get for x problems wrong) is much tougher, and they’re subjects you studied longer ago.
