800W make up for 670M?

I scored a perfect score on my writing section, which would put me in the top 25% at Stanford.
Now I also scored a 670 in Math, which would put me in the bottom 25% at Stanford.
Will these even out and give me a fair chance for admittance? Solely based on scores...
Obviously I understand how important every other aspect of the application is.

Math>Writing, Writing is the most invaluable of all the sections

I mean, I would argue that writing IS invaluable, but not in the way you’re using “invaluable” (;
Sorry to be That Kid. I’ll stop now. I hate being That Kid…
But I am in a similar situation, with 800/650/800. I’m wondering how much colleges will care about my dismal, dismal math.

Many colleges don’t even consider the writing score, or at least they give less weight to it. So no,the 800 in writing probably won’t be able to make up for math (though I do have serious respect for you for getting a perfect).

Thanks for the input everybody…

@LovesBrown- That’s crazy! I thought my scores looked unbalanced. If you were majoring in something like philosophy, schools should take you as a perfect applicant, with excellent reading and writing skills, rather than mathematical and mechanical. 650 still places you in top 12% I think? Idk, not necessarily good, but it could be much worse. That’s at least the way I view my own math…

Haha… I know, right? Majoring in English, screenwriting, basket-weaving, or Not Math Ever Under Any Circumstances.
So hopefully I’ll be fine, unless someone asks me to do some long division.

And, hey, 670 seems good to me. The anecdotal number for “good score for fancy schools” is 700, but… ehh. Holistic review process, am I right?

Well, would 800M less recognized than 800W/800CR?

Actually, at Stanford 800W get in at higher rate than 800CR or 800M:

800CR = 18% admit rate
800M = 12% admit rate
800W = 19% admit rate

@sheepgetkilled- SWEET statistic!
This will only fuel my irrational dream though, lol.

I figured 800 Math would be low. That is easily the most common 800 among test takers. Writing is just more uncommon. I suppose many who get 800s in writing though have nearly perfected their other testing aspects.
