Does UT usually say "Hey, they're near the percentage", and go from there, or will they review me like a top 25%er?

My SAT is a 1920 (1280 CR+M) so far, (waiting on December SAT scores) and I'm 62/498 (12.4%). I've submitted everything I can, including essay C, a resume, and three (What I consider to be great) letters of recommendation from teachers that I am very close with.
All of these have been submitted before the deadline, starting with transcript on 9/17 then application 10/17, followed by the last essay (C) on 11/29.

Do you guys think they'll throw me to the dogs with these stats?

I’m waiting on December scores as well, so I’m not ready to hunker down quite yet! And while I realize a&m auto admit is 1300, why would that give me a great chance at UT?

Two years ago (when it was still top ten) I was capped from engineering and CNS with a 1370/2060, 33 act. 12.5%. No clue how it is now. if your essays are great and you have a decent amount of stuff on your resume your chances greatly improve.

Lol, I got capped from EE. I’m not trying to discourage you, though. If anything I believe you’ve got a good chance for gen studies if whatever else I said holds true. Ut admissions is indeed weird… just hang on and be strong.
