9 units for winter semester at a CCC?

for the winter semester, we are only given a maximum of 8 units. my counselor told me one class would be enough for the winter. but I remember taking 2 classes in the summer(which totaled 6 units) and it wasn't so bad. for winter, i'd like to take 3 classes worth 3 units, which totals to 9 units. will that be too difficult?

has anyone here taken more than 8 units or more than 2 classes during the winter semester and was it hard?

should be a piece of cake. taking 3 3unit classes is not difficult in a short semester, as long as they are not very hard classes which usually end up being 5 units each.

Let us calculate. Winter intersession=4 weeks. Summer intersession=8 weeks. Regular session=16weeks.

2 classes in summer session=2x2=4x3=12 units. Doable.

But....

3 classes in winter intersession= 3x4 (for regular)=12x3= 36 units. Can you handle 36 units?

^^ this is an incorrect way of justifying unit-loads. This would be correct if you went for the same amount of time per week during each term, which is not the case. Typically in winter/summer you go to class for 2x longer each day, and for more days a week than during the typical semester or quarter.
