9 units over the winter. is it too much?

I have to take 9 units over the winter and I was wondering if it's doable. They are not any math or science classes.. more like electives to fill up my 60 units. is it doable? and how long are winter sessions?

Winter intersession is 4 weeks, which is 1/4 of the regular semester. 9 units coursework during the winter intersession would be equivalent to 36 units of coursework taken during a regular semester in terms of the workload. Draw your own conclusions.

If you're in a situation that is anything like the one I was in about this time last year, you are debating whether you should take those 3 extra units during winter, or seeing if you can fit them in during fall or spring.

I ended up taking 6 units last winter (4 week session). It made for some pretty busy days. Thinking back on it, I do think I could have barely managed to squeeze in 3 more units ONLY IF it was one of those ridiculously easy teachers you sometimes see on ratemyprofessor. Odds are that won't be the case for you and if your school is like how mine was, your winter catalog hasn't been made public yet so there is no way for you to know.

My advice is to take 6 units during winter and fit those last 3 in during fall and get it over with. Good luck.

not possible, sorry

just do it when it's over you'll be happy you don't wait another year to transfer

You will be goin 4 times faster, so you can say 1 day = 1 week of work. I say just take 1 course. That's doable but 2 courese or 3 probably not. It really depends on your intelligence.

I am taking 9 units right now during summer with the classes lasting about 28 days each and it is very doable. Make sure you look at ratemyprofessors.com before choosing classes because that will make or break your experience. If the teacher is super hard and gives an extreme amount of work it might not be worth taking 9 units, but if it explains that they are reasonable go for it.

"I am taking 9 units right now during summer with the classes lasting about 28 days each and it is very doable."

The summer term is twice as long as the winter intersession.

9 Summer units = 18 regular semester units

9 Winter units = 36 regular semester units

Big difference.

Oh well, I was just offering my opinion. Sorry for being so "stupid".

this has nothing to do with intelligence

Wait, which CC are you at? SMC, for example, has 6 week winter sessions.

I would say it is only do-able if you are NOT working AND have easy teachers (at least one should be one of those ridiculously easy teachers).

I did 8.5 units over winter, it's not that bad
