I applied as a junior transfer and this is my second year at my cc but I realized I have a lot more units than I thought. I might reach 90 or more by the end of spring.. will that make me a senior-level transfer?

if you have more than 134 transferrable UC quarter units then you will be in senior standing. i think… i was a bit confused about this as well but i think i’ll luckily be under it because i have a few untransferrables since i went to cal poly SLO first quarter of college.

No there’s no such thing as a senior level transfer to UC. I had over 90 semester units when I transfered and I wasn’t disqualified but they only accept 70 of those units max. They only count to cover your lower div requirements because nothing in CC is upper div.

I also applied as a junior-level transfer and will have just over 90 by the spring. Didn’t think it was going to be a big deal because, as KeelyMK stated, it’s not possible to transfer as a senior from a CCC.

So what exactly will senior standing mean? I just found out I’m going to be well over 90 after spring :/

Class standing:

0-29.9 semester units = freshman
30-59.9 semester units = sophomore
60-89.9 semester units = junior
90+ semester units = senior

Multiple by 1.5 for quarter units (i.e. 0, 45, 90, 135 units).

Note that at most 70 community college semester units will transfer, so a transfer student from community college will not enter with senior standing.

In some contexts, class level is mentioned. It is based on semesters completed since entry as a freshman:

0-1 = freshman
2-3 = sophomore
4-5 = junior
6+ = senior

or transfer:

0-1 = junior
2+ = senior

For quarters, multiply by 1.5.
