You should definitely wear winter boots or other weather-proof shoes. I was there today and it was snowing! And you can wear basically anything but I wouldn't wear dress/suit pants because almost no one was wearing them, and you could be awkwardly fancy.

thank you sooo much jazlyntrue!

jazlyntrue - how you feel about NMH ? Myabe we should start a new thread seems some people already re-visit the school this week.

I've visited a lot, but I really liked it. I wasn't actually there for all of the first part when there is a student panel, but I have seen that before and if you haven't it is really interesting. I shadowed a girl for the rest of the day and she was really cool. She wasn't like, "This is the best place EVER, you just HAVE to come here!" And she told me what it was actually like (i.e. what the personalities of the dorms are.) For me it wasn't different than any other type of shadowing (because I wasn't there in the morning), but it was still fun :)

I realize that NMH doesn't equal Exeter, but I was reading this thread and the clothes thing alarmed me. Does anyone know if for Exeter's revisit day if jeans are okay?

well, one of my other kids went to exeter, and boys are not allowed to wear jeans.

To answer the questions, roommate issues were not a problem but my kids all went to sleepaway camp for 8 weeks every summer starting when they were 8, so used to living with lots of other kids.

and yes, she had a positive experience. I realize though that the school is probably quite different now, because when she was there it was 1200 kids on two campuses.

Exeter had a more formal dress code and I believe that the guys have to wear ties.

For NMH I would check the weather. My son wore sneakers and I had regular women's type clog shoes and we were fine. The walkways are clear. If it's suppose to snow you could wear boots. It was in the 40's and nice when we were there.

For the revisit, I enjoyed the chance to interact with the faculty. They were great and it gave me a real feel for the school. My son enjoyed spending time with another student and being in a class and having lunch. The social part of the experience (and he chance to talk to the coaches again were inportant to him)

Thanks Drnancie, I have some questions too.
How many roomates did your daughter have?
Which campus did she live on? (Northfield or Mount Hermon)
Do you feel that your daughter was able to meet great friends, despite the size of the school?
