I wrote my essay about being gay/gay rights. idk. i felt like i would be most passionate about that, although its a risk.

my major is environmental engineering.

*CHANCE ME FOR::: Duke, Dartmouth, Yale, Cornell, Rice *

bumppppppp

pleasssee guysss.

I think you have a great chance at Duke and Cornell. I’m really not sure about Yale or Dartmouth.

I think everything looks good, a subject test in chem would be a good idea.

And I agree, the essay was a risk. Hopefully, it pays off.

In my opinion, writing about being gay is definitely a hook. Top universities want diversity, and for you to be open about your sexuality, I think Harvard would be happy to accept you

Duke and Cornell are a most likely in. Rice somewhat of a wild card, but I wouldn’t be surprised if you got in. Dartmouth and Yale are crapshoots for everyone, but yu have a wonderful chance. That upward trend is gonna look awesome everywhere.
Good luck, you’re going to be awesome anywhere you get into.

thanks!!!, and i chanced you guys back, except for ILoveMyMom cuz i didnt see a chance thread…

bbumpppppp

Duke - high match
Dartmouth - reach
Yale - high reach
Cornell - low reach
Rice - match

You’re a very strong applicant and I’d be suprised if you didn’t get into at least one of these schools. Have some safety schools just in case though.

Please chance me back! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1234291-chance-alaskan-top-schools.html</a></p>

thank you! and i do have safety schools, but theyre instate and i didnt think people on CC would know about them. anyone else?

bbumpppppp

Are you Japanese?

no, im a white male…i just have an interest in lots of different cultures. yeah, i know, weird.

Dartmouth and Yale get pretty picky, but I’d say Rice and Cornell would high targets for you, and Duke would be a low reach. That being said, Dartmouth and Cornell would both be mid-reaches. There’s no reason why you shouldn’t get into all those schools, but you never know. If you have some sort of connection to any of them, that could up your chances, but I think for now you just gotta hope for the best :).

*Dartmouth and Yale would be mid-reaches.

thank you!! and yeah, i am just hoping; i dont expect anything.

I think you have a great chance at Duke and Cornell. Yale and Dartmouth might be slightly harder but your stats and extracurriculars are amazing. I think the essay topic was a good idea because colleges are looking for diversity.

Chance back please!
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1241354-decent-gpa-high-sat-1-weak-ecs.html</a></p>

Idk how to make a link D:

Thanks! I chanced back!, anyone else??

anyonee???

I would say that a 3.98 has little evidence of an upwards trend (i mean it’s like ALMOST perfect to perfect), but other than that, Rank, GPA, and SAT are solid, so you’ll get in the door of admission’s offices at all schools. But your EC’s are a little on the weak side, but are ok. They are wideranging but aren’t really that deep. Overall, I say good shot at rice, high match low reach for duke or cornell, mid reach for Dartmouth and high reach at Yale.
