As most of you are, I'm in my senior year at high school. Throughout hs ive maintained an avg on each report card with 2 or 3 points of a 90, and with every class being of an 80 or better. This quarter though I am really struggling in one particular class (AP Physics) and very well may come close to failing this quarter with an avg near a 70. My overall for the quarter will probably still be at least an 88, but do you guys think that this one grade will in any way affect:

colleges I have already gotten into
or

colleges I have not yet gotten into

all input is appreciated, as I am really stressed out

Since it is only one class, and you should come out of it with something better than a D, i should say it wouldn't hurt you too much in any situation. At least I would hope, because I'm in a similar boat.

HSisOverrated, I'm not asking for my chances anywhere

Im saying that for places that i have already gotten into, or places that i would have probably gotten into before this marking quarter, will my chances at being admitted really be affected or even be revoked at colleges I am already addmitted to?

wont colleges only see your midyear, which would be your first semester grade (1st and second quarter averaged), so they wont see the 70, or does your school calculate GPA every quarter instead of every semester

my school has 4 marking quarters per year, with 4 separate grades

i hope that your right, because i got a 90 in the 1st quarter, but im pretty sure thats not what happens and that the colleges will see both grades

you should ask your counselor, but colleges will probably want to know how you can go from a 90 the first quarter to a 70 the next. i'm struggling in AP physics too.

well i took honors physics last year, so i knew the basis of how to do everything that we did in the first quarter, but this quarter everything is new and impossible.

What does your school consider a 70 to be? If it is a C then it will not affect colleges you have already gotten admitted to. You would need multiple Cs or worse for colleges to consider rescinding admission.

Venkat89, thanks for your response, this boosts my esteem somewhat as this is the only class I am struggling with. But the thing is, my school only does number grades, so all that they tell is is that <65 is failing and everything else is passing.

im going through the same prob im in calc and i have a 79 and i wanna get a ****ing B and i had to get at least a 48/60 on a tough test we took today
