A 159 on 10th PSAT...

Would heavy prep. and studying improve my score tenfold? I know it's a weird question, but from what I've seen, most don't improve by that great a margin from PSAT to SAT score. I've been taking practice tests lately and they've been ranging around 1800, but those are easier than the PSAT.

S improved from 155 to 194 with some summer prep/ no formal tutoring.

He took a sat test 2 weeks before the psat and score 1730. Right in the middle.
I think it depends on how much you have had. When s took sophomore psat, he was at the beginning of alg. 2 so there was plenty of room for improvement,

Don’t worry. Just keep working hard and you will see ~20% increase in score.

Definitely

I went from a 165 to a 2300. You have plenty of time to study.

practice practice practice. the blue book is really helpful! and you’re only a sophomore so you might want to take classes over the summer if you want the structured learning environment

You should expect to see your score improve tenfold, that is, when you switch from the PSAT to SAT. All jokes aside, the success of studying varies tremendously depending on the scenario of the student. In your case, you are trying to improve an 1800, which means that there 600 points out there waiting for you to take them. Instead of taking practice tests aimlessly, you should go through each question and figure out what you did wrong/right and how to find the correct answer in the future. As of now, you’re depleting your source like there’s no tomorrow, and that’s not a good thing.
