A 3.4 Cum GPA at Rutgers...

Majoring in Economics gets me a job doing what?

No real extracurriculars except a couple clubs.

I want to do Finance, but the closer I get to graduating the more realistic it seems that I won't be working in the field with my credentials.

What year are you?

Super Senior

You can work in finance, probably not in New York though.

Thank you for the response. I have another question, but rather then make a new thread I'll ask it here and hope someone reads it.

Since I'm interested in Finance I wanted to get an internship in Finance before I graduate even if its part time. I'm currently doing an Auditing internship, and I'm sad that I'm wasting a Summer doing this because I actually hate it.

Anyway, are there any places that are known for good part time internships during the school year?

Can I have some examples of what kind of job someone can get with these credentials? I'm trying to figure out if I should ditch the finance dreams and try accounting

You might get into lending at a regular commercial bank or a job as a analyst in many corporations.

Is it possible to work as a financial analyst for a F500 company with my credentials?

And if I worked there for a couple years then got my MBA at a good school could I eventually make the transition into HF/VC/PE, something along those lines? I'm also worried about getting into a good MBA program because my 2.6 GPA from my last school will still be taken into account correct?

Financial Analyst at a F500 company is easy as hell to get compared to those coveted finance jobs.

haha well at least I might be employed at graduation... Would it benefit me to take the CFA Level I test this December? How long do people usually study for? If I started ASAP, might I be ready in 4 months?

No, you didn't even major in finance. It'll take more time than that.
