I got a 3 and I can't decide whether to include it in the application. There are lines to write the test subject and score. Would it be better to leave it blank or just include the 3?

Go ahead and tell.

Outside of CC, a 3 is not really a bad score. Report it. Proudly.

Adcoms might assume a 3 or worse if they see you take an AP class but not the test. It'll be especially evident if you write scores for all your other tests.

A 3 isn't bad at all--list it.

I disagree. It depends on what schools you're applying to.

Obviously, it depends on what type of schools you're talking about. That said, highly selective schools expect you to take the appropriate AP test if you take the class. And if you don't report the score, they'll expect that you didn't score well - maybe reporting a 3 is better than giving them the uncertainty of whether you got a 1 or 2.

Report it. Otherwise, they might suspect you got a 2 or 1.

Even Harvard won't say a 3 is "bad", just not the greatest score possible.

Report it. At least you passed, and at least you took the test.

Also, colleges know that things like being sick on test day can lower one's score from what a student is capable of doing.

Plus, some schools put it on your high school transcript (at least I think my school does). If you report all of your "good" scores and not that one, they may see around it anyway if it is on your transcript.
