A bad students chances?

I am almost in tears as I am reading these forums. The other kids make threads with 2350 SATs and 3.9 GPAs and worry about their chances making into their schools.

Well I haven't scoped out all the threads/individual cases in this site, but I'm pretty sure there is nobody with a record as poor as mine. But in my defense, I am truly interested in continuing my education past high school, I just have been lazy and uninformed for the most of my high school years. The hole I've dug for myself is probably too deep, but I would like to see if any of you feel I have chances into making it into the schools I am applying to..

College Park
UMBC
Towson

All in state MD schools.

I have...

2.05 GPA
SAT I CRITICAL READING- 690
SAT 1 MATH- 590
SAT 1 WRITING- 620

I haven't taken the SAT IIs or ACTs.

EC:
Taekwondo (9th+10th grade)
MIST- Competition for muslim students (11th+12th grade)
Varsity Track and Field (12th grade)

I did some volunteer work with "Christmas in April" program in 10th grade also.

The GPA is very bad, but I have been taking challenging classes throughout high school, and it was partly my stubborness of not dropping them that brought me to this level. Thanks in advance for those that take their time to read+respond.

I have no idea about any of those schools, but almost anyone who thinks they can go to college CAN go to college. So apply to them and apply to a community college. If they don't accept you, go to the community college for two years, show them how much you've changed since your slacking-off days, and transfer to a school you really want to. Your SATs are actually pretty nice compared to your GPA. Good luck.

well for college park u have no chance at all
