I've been searching for this question, I can't seem to find a clear answer.
I know every school is different(some don't even accept AP score), but what do they usually do with the AP scores?

I want to have a science major in college, if I take:
AP English language and Composition
AP Music Theory
AP Art

Let's pretend I scored 4 or 5 on these exams, how does it work for college credit?
Cause Music and art classes might not be in the science major's required classes, will I still receive credit for the AP exam's score?
Maybe it will count towards something like "general education requirements"?

Thanks in advance.

It is different at every college. Sometimes you get credit towards a gen ed, others are just elective. English would get you out of freshman english, music theory and art would both count for your fine arts requirement.

I agree with @guineagirl96: Each school is different when it comes to AP credit, so you need to check each schools website regarding their AP credit policy.
My younger son got credit for 4 classes and was allowed to skip these classes while my other son, got some elective credit (which put him at a higher standing as an in-coming freshman) but not allowed to skip classes.

@guineagirl96 @Gumbymom Thanks for the answers!
