A big problem with SAT IIs and applying to Harvard EA

Okay today I did SAT II in BIO and US History--> I think I did well in Bio, but our procter messed up and gave us 10 minutes less than what we are supposed to have for US History, so I did horrible cause I had 17 questions unfinished. In essence, I really screwed up SAT US History. In October can I take SAT II CHemistry in addition to my third choice to make up for how terrible I did in history? In sending SAT II Scores to colleges, can you select the 3 subjects you want to send or must I send what will be a total of 4 subjects with a horrible SAT II US History score?

Was at an info session last week-Harvard now only requires two SATIIs.

I'm so sorry about your situation.
To my knowledge, however, you may not pick and choose which scores to send to colleges. It's everything or nothing.

I'm pretty sure you can't select which SAT II scores are sent. They are all sent with the official transcript from CollegeBoard. What you can do is list the three you want counted on the actual application.

Oh, and about the 2 SAT II requirement, does this apply only if you are submitting a "New SAT" with the writing component? Or are you allowed to submit an "Old SAT" and 2 SAT IIs?

only 2 SATs required now? oh that's good news! I'm still planning on taking 4 though... silly overachiever I am...

audiophile did you by any chance go to the presentation hosted by georgetown/upenn/harvard/duke? i'm going on monday in Dallas, and I'm curious to know how informative it is.

How do I indicate the three I want counted, just put those on the application? Should I note on the application that the SAT US History score was obtained under disadvantaged conditions with the procter giving us 50 instead of 60 minutes?

Yeah you'd just put those ones you want counted on the application... But I'm not sure if it would help or hurt to include that bit about the proctor. Did you consider just retaking the test?

Yes, we discussed it here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=60121&highlight=roadshow

2 SATIIs were required with the new one for Harvard, I don't remember what they said about the old SAT. I do remember Harvard specifically said they wouldn't mix and match high scores from separate sittings, the other 3 schools said they would.

so what if u do well on a cr section on the march test and do well on the math section on the may one.. will they mix them and take ur highest?

Yes on SAT I do they take the highest score of each subject from all sittings?

Harvard said they will take the highest composite score at a single sitting, but not combine scores. Penn, Duke & Georgetown said they would.

Wait so they changed their sat policy, didn't it used to be the highest score in each subject out of all sittings?

On Harvard's homepage the following is stated:

"...As always, students must also three SAT II exams of their choosing. The Admissions Committee will continue to consider all test results in light of students' educational opportunities...

What did I miss?
