Idk... I am seriously disturbed by the Yale sex week thing. I know it's been a few months since the thread in the Yale forum but I suddenly thought about it when we were talking about feminism in class. I am not being arrogant but... I don't feel very comfortable about the existence of such a 'liberating thoughts' thing. Look at their official webpage... They invited Sasha Grey to talk about being positively sexual? To me it's not liberation at all, but insinuation that pornography is fine, ok, perfectly acceptable. Come on, how many people have the opportunity to give a lecture at Yale? What is the use of porn movies? Basically is to see how women are being used as toys for men's happiness. Isn't Yale somehow promoting this notion then?
Maybe I am just overthinking since I've heard people saying that only about 50% of the school population has been influenced by it. But to me, it is something that can be embedded in the invisible school policy whose influence is immense. It's just so strange that my impression of such a great university has been tarnished.
