I’ll try and answer your questions the best I can!
1.) I had the meal plan during summer, and honestly, I found it a waste of money. For fall, I decided not to get the meal plan. While it is convinent, it does not always work that way. The lines can be long, there’s not enough food choices, and the food never actually taste REAL, if that makes any sense. It all just taste kind of fake. I’m in Nike, and I buy my own food. Word to the wise-be careful buying your own food, if you do. You’ll be tempted to buy quick, easy snacks, but ones that aren’t healthy at all, and throw on the pounds. As long as you keep that in mind, I like having my food in my dorm, and not have to walk to market place, wait in lines, etc.
2.)I personally would say Libra, or Nike. I don’t suggest Lake Claire, or Towers. I have friends in both, and they always mention how anti-social the dorms are, especially the towers. Libra is VERY social, but I personally LOVE Nike. I feel so at home in my dorm. Also, I’ve been in Apollo a good amount of times, and they really aren’t that bad-it’s nice and spacious, especially the common room, where you can have a table, chairs, everything! But I personally like Nike-right by the gym and the pool, not far from classes, and so on.
3.)As of jobs, I can’t really answer that. I’ve been trying to find one, and there’s some options. You just need to know where to look, and sell yourself, because there’s endless other students looking for the same thing.
4.) I am currently a freshmen at UCF, as well as an out of state student. I not ONCE visited the campus before coming down here for summer term, only saw pictures. I LOVE it here, it’s so perfect, for me at least. The campus is gorgeous, in such a contemporary way. The professors are great (At least, that one’s I have) and the people here are wonderful. I’ve met some of the most amazing individuals, who have already had such a huge impact on me. There’s endless clubs, the gym is amazing, and there’s always plenty to do on the weekends, because of where we’re located. I actually don’t even want to go home at the end of this summer, but I must. But that’s how much I love it here-anyone who goes to UCF should be very proud, because it’s an amazing, dynamic university.
5.)I don’t have a car, and the only time it can get irritating is when you need to get off campus. Waterford lakes, however, is right by UCF, and has a target and everything. Buses take you there over the weekend, or else you can make friends with someone who has a car. Otherwise, cars really are not necessary. Parking is a PAIN, and you often can’t find spots, so it’s not worth it, in my opinion.

Hope I helped out, and good luck!:)
