I thought that by the end of March that I would no longer have to worry about college admissions. I wasn't sure whether I'd be happy or not with the outcome, but I at least thought there would be closure! However, I've been waitlisted at all of my top schools: Stanford, UPenn, UC Berkeley, and Carnegie Mellon. I applied for engineering to all four and have thus far been accepted to Santa Clara, UCSD, UCI, and Stevens Institute of Technology. I have no idea what to do. I want to accept my waitlist offers, but is there even a chance of me being admitted form one of them? If so, is there anything I can do to improve my chances, by say contacting the schools and conveying continued interest? I know a few other people who are in this same situation and would really appreciate any insight I can get. Thanks.

Yes definitely accept your position on the waitlist. You should probably visit the schools, update your applicaton, send them letters, etc. Basically ‘kiss up’ Best of luck to you!! A waitlist is still MUCH better than outright rejections!
