What if i got a c in ap chemistry and everything else A’s junior year…should i not even bother applying?

It may hurt you JUST a little bit. Just do better in second semester and bring it up to an A. Admission officers understand how APs can be difficult. Just work harder and you'll be fine. Nothing should stop you from applying. Brown's awesome!

it is ok to get a "C" or two. plenty of people on this site who've been admitted to ivies will tell you they had a "C" in "so and so" class. plus it adds integrity to your transcript.

Of course you should apply. But as far as the impact of the C, it will mostly depend on what it does to your class rank. If it drops drastically the C will definitely sting.

AP Chem is one of the harder APs, so Brown might cut you a little slack for it.

Well, what do you want to major in? If you want to major in a science, it will hurt you more than if you're one of those artsy fartsy people who major in bsing.

"artsy fartsy people who major in BSing?"

I hope you're being sarcastic.

I don't think a C will kill you so long as you are demonstratably passionate in other areas. My best friend has a C in math but is stellar in her area of study, polysci, where she has taken four college courses on top of school academy and social science APs, with all A's. And I've got faith in her. So yeah, go for it, just show them what you've got.
