A C+ in BC calc?

So, I think I'm going to end third quarter with a C+ in BC calc (unless by some miracle the test I am about to get back boosts it significantly). I had a couple of bad tests this quarter and wasn't able to pull my grade back up. I should be able to get this back up fourth quarter and my average for first semester was a B+. Will this get me rescinded from a top tier school? All of my other grades are still fine, 3 A's and probably 1 B+...

Any opinions?

good god, im sick of hearing these.

no. you won’t get rescinded. now go away and enjoy the most pointless month of your academic career.

You’re fine, get a D+ and you’d be in trouble. A C+ in BC calc is not an issue…

AP Calculus BC is one of the toughest classes in highest school. Most people take Calculus AB, because of how MUCH tougher AB is.

That said, I’m sure there would be a bit of “leeway” even if you were to get a D+. You have no worries with a C+. Most teachers admit to grades dropping during the 3rd grading period anyway.

~ Theos

Funnily (well, not really funnily, but whatever), I’m looking at a similar situation. All my other classes I should have an A in (or A-) but I’d be looking at a C range for Calc (I’m in BC also). I’m expecting that I’ll be fine, it may depend on what college you’re going to but others seem to also think it’s fine.

So you guys don’t think this will get me rescinded?

…are you befuddled by the above responses?

C+ is a good grade esp. in calculus BC! Calm down!

Be quiet down there.

^i wouldn’t go that far, but it certainly won’t get you rescinded.

I have a C in calc II (equivalent to BC) from sophomore year and afaik it did nothing to keep me out of any school.

Senior Third Quarter * (AP Class + “THAT” f***ing Ch.9-Taylor’s Series) = C+

Yup, I think this equation works perfectly.

(By the way, our class average of Ch.9 Taylor’s series test was D)

It won’t get you rescinded. College admissions counselors do not like to rescind people they have already admitted. Rescinding only takes place if a SERIOUS drop in grades is evident, or another event took place that they felt was repulsive. You will be fine.

Surprisingly I didn’t find the Taylor Series Ch. 9 that hard (nor did most of my class)…got a B+ on the test. However, remembering Ch. 9 and everything previous for the final…ya that was way worse.

No you will not.
