Hi guys I'm applying to Columbia and a number of other colleges. This question applies to them all.

So during the second quarter I was sick and missed a huge amount of school. I would be in some days then out the next. I brought in doctor's notes, and explained my absences to my teachers. However now it's looking like I'll get, at best, a C in AP AB Calculus :( I've tried extremely hard, but my grade doesn't reflect my effort. Even the teacher sympathizes with me (though not enough to help me bring it up apparently)

Anyway I was wondering if I ask my counselor to make a note of how ill I've been when sending in my Mid-Year report, do you think that will help my chances? I might also get a B in Chemistry.

So far my grades look like:
AP Psych - A
AP Lit - A
AP Studio Art - A
AP AB Calc - C
IB French 7 - A
AP Chem - B or A

Should I ask my counselor do this? Or maybe an extra recommendation from my mother explaining my situation? Any advice right now would mean a lot to me.
My GPA unweighted/weighted as of right now:
3.92/4.55

I can answer any other questions
