a C sophomore year?

thats right guys! a C!! not a B, not an A. A C!!!!!.

My first semester of sophomore year, I ended up with a C in AP World History. How bad does this look for someone applying to Ivy-Leagues and top Privates? I am still within the top ten percent of my graduating class.

how much will this hurt me?

"I am still within the top ten percent of my graduating class."

Most interesting part of your post.....assuming alot of other students in your school also have C's or b's on their transcripts at some point, you should be ok...but who knows....you could have all A's and still not be admitted...work hard and don't get hung up on "Ivy-leagues and top privates" so much.....

It looks bad.

Make A's next semester 11th and 12th grade
If colleges see improvement, i think they won't hold the C against you

And make sure to kill the SAT
If you have a talent, win something on a state or national level to show how good you are
Become well rounded in the arts and athletics
Don't just join clubs, become an officer or create a club to show your leadership

If you have all the above, that C wouldn't really hurt you
