A Capella groups?

I went to this dartmouth direct program and heard this AMAZING A Capella group (I'd never heard A Capella before) and got hooked on A Capella. So I'm wondering how the A Capella groups are at this school. Can anyone offer some picture of the "A Capella scene"?

One word: Tigertones!!! :D

Princeton has many a capella groups both single sex and coed, and what is unique about them is that they get to perform in Arch-sings. Throughout the year there will be late night concerts where a few groups gather under the big arches to sing and the acoustics of the arch makes it very wonderful.

From the student guide (and each of the groups named below -- all amazing -- has its own website):

A cappella singing groups

There are at least a dozen a cappella groups on campus, and new ones seem to pop up every semester. Nearly every Thursday, the eight oldest groups stage an "arch sing" in Blair Arch or 1879 Hall Arch. Each group sings a 15-minute set of their new and old songs, cheered on by dozens of their loyal fans and visitors. Out of these "arch-rotation" groups, there are three all-male groups -- the Nassoons, the Tigertones, and the Footnotes; four all-female groups -- the Wildcats, the Tigressions, Culturally Yours, and the Tigerlilies; and three coed groups -- the Roaring 20, Shere Khan and the Katzenjammers. There is also Kindred Spirit (Christian), Koleinu (Jewish), and the Fire Hazards (open to all and proud of being the "most unrehearsed" group on campus).

All groups are open to first- or second-year singers, and most hold auditions during the second week of classes. The current group members, who listen to the auditions, are very supportive through the relatively painless audition process. Most groups rehearse four or five nights a week for a total of six to eight hours, but once people enter the a cappella community, they rarely want to leave. There is something special about bonding with people while singing together.
