A career in politics, law, or public policy

I'm looking at possibly a career in public policy, law, or politics and my school offers a program that allows a graduate student to pursue both a JD and an MPA simultaneously. This sounds like something I might want to try considering it would allow me to go in a variety of different directions. However, I cannot decide what to major in as an undergraduate. I'm thinking of a double major in Anthropology and Economics with a minor in Public Policy. I'm thinking Anthropology because it would give me a good basis for working with people, but if anybody has any other suggestions that would be great. Also if anybody has any ideas about what I could do as a career, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I would recommend that you see if there’s some sort of Political Economy major or option within either the Economics or Political Science degrees, instead of Philosophy.

My school has pretty cool overlap between those disciplines.

My suggestion is to major in what you’re most interested in. Your grades will be better and your major should not negatively impact your law school admission (well, except for Art History Majors)

;-)

Right now I’m looking at history and economics or maybe political science. I just don’t know if I want to like dedicate myself to those things because if graduate school doesn’t work then I really have no options… Any ideas as to a major that might be more marketable but would provide a good basis for public policy related careers?

Economics.
