A certain style

I have always dreamed of attending a college where the mentality and feel was somewhat older, where the khaki and sweatshirt with the school logo was embroidered on. Somewhat waspy, as some would say, with the rowing clubs and old family connections. Are there any colleges outside of the ivies that match this? Maybe the little ivies or similar top rated liberal arts schools on the east coast? I am being genuine because I still feel that there are schools that have such a feel out there, and if anyone knows anything similar please do tell, as I am still looking at colleges. Thank you very much in advance.

Allegedly Georgetown is a bit like that. And maybe Duke and Vanderbilt. Perhaps Stanford. Some LACs feel more like that. Perhaps Hamilton and Colgate. Rowing is big at Williams. Perhaps there. Certainly not at Amherst. As for the Ivies being like that. I didn’t see that many Khakis and logo embroidered sweatshirts last time I visited Penn or Princeton or Yale, where I would have expected them. Perhaps those “old” days are gone. Try Oxford or Cambridge.

So basically you want a preppy college, I am looking for the same type of atmosphere
Look into Boston College, Wake Forest, Duke, Notre Dame, Brown, Georgetown, and Villanova to an extent

Sewanee the University of the South
University of Mississippi
Miami University of Ohio
Depauw University

Many schools, particularly larger Southern publics, with heavy frat scenes have a large portion of students which fit your profile in terms of dress and family connections to the school that go back generations. However, most of the students are far less wealthy than those at more elite privates.

Sewanee! Visiting right now.

@‌fogcity

Those were some of my ideas as well for schools, I am trying to mix old campus feel with old education approach, IE preppy.

I believe Bucknell and Washington and Lee might fit that profile at least a little bit.
