I came to U.S. Jan. 2005 as an exchange student from Korea.
I am neither from foreign language high school nor had ever been to U.S. before.
I haven’t prepared well for SATs and APs cuz I decided to stay here like few months ago.
Plus, I am going to take several AP exams this coming May by self-studying.
Do you think it would appeal admission officers well?
I wrote about my exchange student experience (which, I believe, is unique) and I’m pretty sure about good recs.

My priorities are Emory, Swarthmore, Vandy, WasU and
I am looking for FA except for Columbia and U Penn.

Plz give me some advice.
Thanks!

bump, guys~

if u r asking for financial aid to all those schools... most of them are going to be reaches

I agree. However, you may have a chance by explaining your situation (foreign exchange student, self-study, etc.). Good luck!

omgplease is correct as most of the schools on your list are not need blind for international students so your ability to pay will be a factor in the admissions. You are going into a situation where there are going to be thousands of applicants for less than 100 seats in the class. You will also be evaluated in the pool of korean applicants who will have higher scores and some being able to pay full freight.

What about Swarthmore and Davidson?
They are pretty generous about FA, aren't they?
I know their scholarships are not merit-based.(I just checked it)
What are my chances for these colleges?
