Wow those legacies … So jealous.

You have great grades/EC’s/everything! well done. Now all you can do is hope and wait. I think you’ll be very successful though:

Wow, I don’t know much about this sort of thing, but your class rank and GPA sound really good. Your ECs are also very strong - especially the volunteer work. And requiring no FA, together with being a legacy, never hurts :).

Best of luck. I’d say you have excellent chances.

You’re even applying to some of the same schools as me ;).

Yeah, I don’t think you need to ED Haverford, but if you know it’s your favorite and you can afford it, then go for it.

Pretty much just echoing what others have said

Wow! How are you a legacy at so many places?

bumpercars

I wouldn’t do the whole soup kitchen thing as an essay topic, I would try and write about something more interesting. It may not be the case, but to me it sounds like you did the volunteering just for the application, and not for any other reason.

the essay is actually about working at the camp, not the soup kitchen. it’s not the usual “i met people less fortunate than me and saved them” shpiel. its about how i was a REALLY bad kid when i was younger and how patient my parents and teachers were with me, and this 10 year kid i was working with who couldn’t read and was very violent and did not have that kind of support system. the writing is very high quality and i injected some humor in as well. i admit in the essay that I was taking the job as something to do during the summer so I wouldn’t be bored, and I showed that it turned into something more worthwhile. to be honest, the are very few original essay topics- the writing is more important than the content.

dammit I’m jealous. XP with your SAT score/GPA/etc etc, you’ll definitely get in at like 70% of those schools. and definitely in at Haverford…if you’re applying ED, you probably will never need to apply to those other places

Oh good going. Basically what others have said. You have a crazy good app.
