ribsfan - on that cheerleading thing did you mean you're gay or that it is gay? GRIN! I just had to tease you a bit with that comment. Just keep in mind that President Bush was a cheerleader in college and look where he ended up. Your stats look pretty good if you're asking me, who knows nuthin' about nuthin'. Your sports/letters prove that you are highly motivated physically. Good job! Keep working hard and get that application in!

I think Boss may be right. Perhaps SportsLap is confusing CGA with another academy. I know that CGA has an early action program with a Nov. 1st deadline but haven't heard of an LOA for CGA before. Great luck to you SportsLap! Its all good! With an LOA from other academies, it means they are very interested in you and if you apply, and pass all the requirements; nominations, DODMERB, physical fitness tests, and don't drop the ball in academics, you'll be offered an appointment. Don't get hurt and don't get into any kind of trouble either. I'd frame that thing if I were you and congrats!

This is a letter of assurance from the Director of Admissions at the CGA, Captain Bibeau. It is waiting upon my completed application, because I have not finished it yet. So I can safely drop my applications to other schools? The CGA is my top choice, and the nomination process is an incredible pain in the butt.

Wow. Congrats! Way to go kid! No kidding. Frame it! Anyhow DO NOT drop your other applications. I cannot advise that strongly enough nor would anyone else here I'm sure. The paper work for nominations can be a real pain but truly, if you go on through with it, there will be no regrets later. Always, always get a couple of back up plans. Stay motivated & good luck!

Ahh good advice. I framed my loa (to usma) so now i can look at it all the time without getting BBQ fingerprints on it (lol). However, i am certainly not going to drop my other applications to other school. Even though usma is my first choice, a lot can happen in 8 or 9 months. Medical, nominations, keeping up grades...its just too risky. Congrats though and gl to you.

Since you are currently enrolled in college you do not need to retake the SAT's; admissions at the Academies will be looking at your academic performance in college now.

I suggest that you take another math your next semester, such as calculus.

Stay in tip-top physical shape..but do not get injured.

Continue to be involved in some type of community service...
